Got these setup today with the matching unicorn centre. They play quite easily and in a very controlled manner down to 30hz, their clarity and detail retrieval across the board is absolutely A+ With a “typical” ribbon sound their airy top end is extremely crisp without ever becoming harsh or fatiguing (as metal based tweeters quite often do) One word for this top end, phenomenal. Mids are slightly forward which helps with the very analytical over all tone . Space and general staging is a little directional and not entirely a “the speakers vanish” type deal, but their pin point accuracy is remarkable and easily “makes up” for this more direct delivery approach. The Unicorn centre is one of the best for clean and crisp dialogue I’ve heard and competes with centres in a much higher price bracket.
I cannot recommend these speakers enough. The pictures DO NOT do them justice in terms of build quality and finish. Their look and overall presentation, again, slots in with competitors around the $5k upward range. One thing, the Unicorn centre is very big, very big so keep that in mind if buying without auditioning first! The Wizard towers are completely gorgeous to behold in person and quite compact. These are NOT warm, laid back sounding speakers. They attack the room mids first and delve into the finest details of anything you can throw at them (via that beautiful looking and sounding ribbon tweeter). All three of these could have easily been slapped with a $5000 price tag, but Richter really went above and beyond. Absolutely A+ sound and finish, Aussie legend.
